Bus Transfers To and From Vienna International Airport

Vienna Airport has bus route connections with several main points of Vienna/Wien and the Vienna/Wien city center, as well as with various other regional and international locations.

Local Bus Transfers at Vienna Airport

Vienna Airport Lines connects the main Vienna transport hubs with Vienna Airport with 3 different lines, VAL Line 1, Line 2 and Line 3.

Timetables may vary depending on season, but during the summer season it is not unusual for at least one of the lines to run around the clock, although that is not always the case.

All the routes connect the airport with the underground railway system in Vienna.

Tickets can be bought on the bus from the bus driver, online, from sales partners, or from the Vienna Airport Lines ticket machines located at the airport and at Wien Westbahnhof. When buying tickets make sure to know the validity of the ticket as it may vary depending on where it was purchased.

Return tickets are valid, for the returning journey, for up to 30 days.

Monthly tickets are also available.

Children under the age of 6 travel free of charge when accompanied by at least one person. Children aged 6-14 travel for half the price.

VAL Line 1 runs between the airport and Wien Westbahnhof via Wien Hauptbahnhof starting early mornings and ending after midnight with one departure every hour going in both directions.

The journey takes 40 minutes one-way, and the fare for a single journey is from 9.00€.

VAL Line 2 runs between the airport and Wien Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz with one departure in each direction every hour, except in the hours around 3-4 in the morning - although during some seasons they may run during those hours as well.

The journey takes 20 minutes one-way, and the fare for a single journey is from 8.00€.

VAL Line 3 runs between the airport and Wien Donauzentrum via Wien Kaisermühlen VIC Underground station as well as a few other locations. This is a VAL Line, but it is operated by Postbus.

Buses depart from early morning until late afternoon with a frequency of every second or third hour.

The journey time is approximately 40 minutes from the airport to Donauzentrum, and the opposite direction, and the fare is from 8.00€ for a single journey.
